Story
Colours is inspired by the intersection between the taste of oranges and the smell of orange flowers. It was also inspired by the layers of history hovering transparently over an orange-tree-studded fountain courtyard in Silves, Portugal. Its impact is funky, intoxicating and refreshing. It hotwires the creative brain beyond language and logic, through names and numbers, past story and into haunting dissonant song.
One of the star ingredients is an old-school, perfume-grade, solvent-extracted absolute of ‘sambac’ jasmine (the wilder, warmer, sexier cousin of the stuff that goes in your tea). Jasmine is a euphoriant of the highest order - smashing through apathy and stagnation, erupting past negativity into a playful libidinal urge (and blended here with ylang ylang, an aphrodisiac, fyi). The hypnotic citrus sparkle fades into a mist of metallic bittergreen angelica and pricklysweet nutmeg (which shares compounds with peyote), clouding a hallucinated sun with a vitamin shot LSD flashback.
Colours is an unusual inversion of the floral archetype, designed to carbonate the stuff you’re made of. At its base is an incredibly rare absolute of porcini mushroom, casting a warm, resinous glow over the skin like a translucent layer of honeyed earth. Use it as anti-aromatherapy, blissfully disrupting the mundane for a drug-less trip within.
