VAGUE PERFUME
Our “in-process” series are elaborations on formulas devised during Jovian’s extensive drafting process. They are blended in limited quantities of an unrepeatable formula and packaged in neutral numbered bottles.

VAGUE PERFUME is a botanical floral scent which merges with your skin, transforming into a subtle aura of earthy familiarity. after an explosion of heady blooms, digging up vintage bottles of perfume from an overgrown hobby garden, it settles, leaving an intimate, skin-echoing base. accents of spice keep it energized, textured and suitably ambiguous, like that item from the thrift store that goes with everything.
wildflowers on a rolling hill. spring winds carry the oily hypercolour of blooms in a buffeting rush, mixing with heirloom soils, thickly rustling trees, and strange, presumably folkloric grasses. then the light shifts. the wind turns cooler, the flowers heavy, riotous, overgrown, bowing in the late summer sun. cones and bark in the distance. the air has the spice of dusk. finally, the image turns into a painting of itself, thickly applied, a gardener’s reenactment of the world outside. out the window, the grasses still rustle silently in the evening wind. isn’t it weird when you can see the wind but can’t feel it, you think, the gingery steam from a mug of herbal tea condensing on your nose. the ambient scent of weathered comfort hums just below your perception, seemingly excreted by every object in the room. it’s the smell of a place you go to settle back into yourself. it’s a classic smell, a little dirty, timeless in its worn patina. eventually, every bottle smells like this.

storage: Store bottles in a cool, dark place. As Jovian products are all-natural and free of artificial preservatives, they will smell best if used within 6 months.
