Story
one of the hardest things to do in natural perfume is to make something relaxed, nostalgic, and amorphous, more soothing radio static than botanical specimen. but some of the most deeply pleasurable scent memories aren’t rustic or wildcrafted. think of the warm cloud of some building’s laundry room steam that conjures favourite-hoodie apparitions on the street corner.
starbutter evokes the untranslatable comfort of our everyday scent landscape, injected with an elusive echo of cool. composed of 100% natural botanical aromatics, it feels more like a distillation of man-made olfactory textures, lit at the edges with flashes of herbaceous reflection. it is a sparse installation of textures both warmly woven and celestially sparkling.
for me, the opening is suede gas station and earl grey tea. soon, the petroleum notes get slightly powdery, with echoes of violet coffee fudge and the funk of raw puer tea. sage appears, faintly metallic, frosting the windows of a freshly-painted room. the scent melts into the skin, purring subtly for a while before a warm azure current of ozonic-chamomile laundry musk begins to smolder, lingering persistently.
